Really wouldn't recommend this series to. "YOU'RE LUCKY I DIDN'T HIT YOUR GIANT SQUARE HEAD!" "DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST MISS?" Vane asks. I was pretty satisfied with the conclusion to be honest. I liked that my favourite character and who I was rooting for got what she deserved. And I found the angst elements of it annoying, there was SO MUCH unnecessary teenage angst I just didn't care about. THE ROMANCE it was just unconvincing, to me personally. The final showdown with the big bad was SO SHORT and it wasn't even dramatic even though he's supposed to be the biggest bad in all the land. I just found it so boring and unsatisfying. For 200 pages literally nothing happens and the end scene wasn't even exciting. PLOT In this book I found the plot super lacking. Also, the girls hated on the other girls because of their dress and urghghkd WHY I also hated the implication girls who dressed less modest were less honest, more likely to cheat and more likely to "steal yo man", basically. Despite this she's constantly called skanky and skimpy and that annoyed me SO MUCH. One girl has the power to absorb wind - so the more skin open to the air the better her power. throughout this series, girls who wear short clothes are lusted after because they're "exposing themselves" and are also called skimpy, slutty or skanky. I DID like the side characters, Arella, Aston, Solana, Os and Gus were interesting and they should have been the main characters. I genuinely don't think she was in any different place by the end of book 3 then she was in book 1. I did like that he was an unusual male MC in that he wasn't the gung-ho no feelings fighter manly man type, but I still found him annoying.Īudra I liked more, and I thought after book 2 she'd have more good character development - but everything just crashed and burned. He was overly sexual toward the girls in the series and I just found him uncomfortable. I found him whiny and annoying for most of it, and his constant inner monologue was really cringeworthy more often then not. I really didn't like the main character Vane. So YEAH I was in it for the Avatar plot, and I kinda had hopes for this book because I enjoyed book 2 a bit, but I literally skim read this book from page 200 I was so bored The main character, Vane, is the last Westerly, and he needs to go up against Raiden to save the windwalkers from total destruction. AND THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED WHEN RAIDEN ATTACKED. each controls a different type of wind but live side by side in harmony. There is four different wind groups - the Northerlies, Southerlies, Westerlies and Easterlies. It's about windwalkers or sylphs, a race of people who have the power to control the wind. I wanted to read this series because it's basically Avatar: The Last Airbender plot wise. In book 2 the characters got better but the plot fell off. The characters annoyed me so much in book 1, but I stayed in it for the plot. Yeah thats me about reading this bookĪNYWAY me and this series have a pretty rocky relationship. YOU KNOW that really annoying thing when you know something is a bad idea but your brain is still like dooooo it. But Vane and Audra started this fight together. When the forces align, Audra makes her play-but Raiden is ready.įreedom has never held such an impossible price, and both groups know the sacrifices will be great. The wind is also rising to her side, rallying against their common enemy. And she has a strange “guide” left behind by the one prisoner who managed to escape Raiden. She has Gus-the guardian she was captured with. Anything to bring Audra home safely.īut Audra won’t wait for someone to rescue her. He’ll do whatever it takes, including storming Raiden’s icy fortress with the three people he trusts the least. Even against his own peaceful nature as a Westerly. Against the slowly corrupting Gale Force. The breathtaking action and whirlwind adventure build to a climax in this thrilling conclusion to the “remarkably unpredictable” (BCCB) Sky Fall trilogy from the bestselling author of the Keeper of the Lost Cities series.
